Overview
In the dynamic world of job assessment preparation, Making Moves B.V. emerged as a trailblazer with their innovative web platform, Assessment Training. Established with the mission to empower job seekers worldwide, Assessment Training offers a diverse range of tests and packages designed to facilitate success in job assessments. From numerical reasoning to verbal analogies, the platform's offerings catered to many occupations across the globe.
However, as the digital landscape evolved, the platform's limitations came to light. The initial website, based on an outdated WordPress template, suffered from a multitude of issues including poor usability, SEO limitations, security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and an unstructured content management system. These challenges hindered the website's responsiveness, its user experience, and the ability to scale up to support a growing number of users. Consequently, Making Moves B.V. recognized the urgent need for a modern, scalable, and user-friendly platform to better serve its users and expand its global reach.
In 2016, Making Moves B.V. partnered with RUBICON to revitalize its web platform. This collaboration marked the beginning of an ambitious project that sought not only to enhance the website's functionality but also to elevate the business to new heights. With a vision for a configurable, fast, and superior user experience, the partnership aimed to transition from the previous platform to a holistic software solution incorporating front-end, back-end, cloud, and UX/UI elements.
At the heart of this transformation was RUBICON, entrusted with developing a secure platform that would be accessible anytime, anywhere in the world. With a proven track record in delivering software solutions par excellence, RUBICON was poised to address the old platform's core issues and redefine the software landscape for Making Moves B.V. The ultimate goal: a contemporary, user-friendly, and SEO-optimized platform that would effectively meet the expectations of Assessment Training's diverse user base, and propel the business forward in the global market.
Challenges
A series of challenges had to be overcome to build the envisioned product:
Developing a platform to support multiple languages (English, Dutch, German, and Spanish) with centralized and unified content. The old platform used an independent WordPress installation with its own databases for each language.
Building a centralized administrative application providing test managers and translators with more control and efficiency, to be able to easily manage day-to-day operations, create new tests and packages, translate, and address customer support.
Transferring substantial customer data, including login credentials, purchases, and subscriptions, securely from the previous platform to the new one.
Overcoming issues with the old platform such as poor usability, SEO, security, performance, and unstructured CMS.
Re-designing the new website to look aesthetically pleasing and work functionally, allowing customers to easily navigate through the platform and complete their online tests efficiently.
Solutions
The solution involves a new web platform that is bold and organized, making it easy for users to adopt. Navigating the website and accessing packages and tests becomes very simple. Most importantly, users can easily and successfully practice for their job assessments.
For the Making Moves team, the management process became a lot more efficient and organized. Employees could simply upload new assessment tests and packages faster and in larger amounts.
Our development team followed an agile framework, using Scrum for the development process. They began with a Design Sprint to validate the idea, then divided the project into two-week sprints, integrating a DevOps workflow for streamlined development, deployment, and iterative learning. The meticulous process culminated in a fully functional web platform, primed for market launch.
After the six-month development process, we launched Assessment Training into the market. Seeing our client’s product prosper was rewarding so we decided to continue to work alongside B.V Making Moves to achieve further success.
